I love the idea of Home Owners Associations and Civic League Associations using social media as a primary source of sharing information! First of all, its free and easily accessible. It's permission based so people have the freedom to get informed and involved voluntarily. Newsletter type information can be shared in discussion format which creates an immediate buzz. It also works great for neighborhood watch and block security programs. Its not easy to access crime reports but having the ability of all users to make reports and observations through watch commanders and leaders is an amazing communication asset.

I have used social media for job search, business networking, animal rescue marketing/exposure/fundraising , all with phenomonal success. Once I sat with you and learned the basics I was off and running! The best thing I learned was that its more than just setting it up: its also knowing what then to do with it. YOu helped with both! Thank You! PS Any advice on how to use social media for a homeowners association? Im going to write a column for their newsletter and create their facebook page....
