First of all, its free and easily accessible. It's permission based so people have the freedom to get informed and involved voluntarily. Newsletter type information can be shared in discussion format which creates an immediate buzz. It also works great for neighborhood watch and block security programs. Its not easy to access crime reports but having the ability of all users to make reports and observations through watch commanders and leaders is an amazing communication asset.
